OUR PARTNERSHIPS & STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS
Strengthening Postvention through partnership
Partnership remains at the heart of StandBy’s success. Suicide postvention is complex and deeply personal, requiring responses that are timely, culturally safe, evidence informed, and community led. This year, StandBy has continued to demonstrate the power of collaboration through several key partnerships that are shaping both local practice and national systems.
One of the most significant has been our partnership with the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT). Together, we codeveloped the Healing Together – Strengthening Culturally Responsive Postvention Support workshop, piloted with Mala’la Health Service (Maningrida), Katherine West Board (Katherine), and CAAC (Alice Springs). Guided by Aboriginal Advisory Groups established by AMSANT, the program ensures local voices and cultural knowledge drive the design and delivery of support. This approach has been widely recognised, showcased at the SEWB Forum and the National Culture Care Connect Forum, as a model for community led postvention across Australia.
At a national level, StandBy became a founding member of the National Postvention Leadership Group (NPLG), alongside headspace National (Schools & Communities), MacKillop Seasons, and Thirrili. Together, the group is advancing shared priorities, including cultural capability, service improvement, and evidence informed resources, ensuring consistent and compassionate support for people bereaved by suicide, wherever they live.
StandBy also strengthened its partnership with Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA), recognising the unique needs of first responders, veterans, and their families. This collaboration includes representation on the Support After First Responder Suicide (SAFeRS) study advisory committee, contributions to a national postvention white paper, and the co-design of new support packs for Police, Fire, and Ambulance services.
Together, these partnerships reflect StandBy’s collaborative model in action, building trust, amplifying impact, and ensuring every person bereaved or impacted by suicide is met with care and dignity.

Building futures through partnership
Youturn understands that the best outcomes are achieved when we work together. Our partnerships with schools, training providers, and community organisations create powerful opportunities for young people to connect, learn, and thrive.
This year, headspace Maroochydore partnered with Arethusa College to offer students firsthand experience in the mental health sector through a Certificate III in Community Services (CHC32015) traineeship. Supported by Look Now Training, Maroochydore, the program allows students to work part-time alongside experienced professionals while completing their studies. It’s a first-of-its-kind collaboration for Youturn, bridging education and employment by helping students build confidence, develop real-world skills, and explore meaningful career pathways. The partnership also brings fresh energy and youth insight into the headspace environment, strengthening the connection between services and the communities they serve.
Equally impactful has been our ongoing partnership with Noosa Flexi School, where Youturn provides regular onsite mental health support. Our clinical psychologist, Kat Petridis, delivers sessions each Tuesday, offering therapeutic support and staff professional development, including training on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our GPs have also provided health checks, addressing a critical gap in local access to care where transport remains a major barrier.
Through this collaboration, Noosa Flexi School students receive consistent, holistic care in a familiar environment, while Youturn teams work alongside educators through regular case reviews and consultation. Together, we’re building a model of care that integrates wellbeing into education, helping young people feel supported, empowered, and ready for the next chapter of their lives.
These partnerships are a true reflection of Youturn’s mission: to support, connect, and create opportunities for young people to flourish.
